People in need of a ramp at their home to aid their mobility have until Monday, March 9 to apply to be a recipient of this year’s Rampathon. The one-day community service project of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) is scheduled for Saturday, May 16.
Builders and other members of the homebuilders association donate time and materials for the annual ramp building project.
Since 1993, members of the Master Builders have provided more than 500 ramps to residents in King and Snohomish counties. Sponsors say these ramps provide a much-needed benefit for individuals and families who struggle to get themselves or their loved ones safely in and out of their homes.
Past recipients of the free access ramps have included children with cerebral palsy or other impairments, veterans who were injured in combat, accident and stroke victims, and others with disorders that limit mobility.
